Paula Deen

I have to add this one thing: Helena is OBSESSED with Paula Deen. She watches her cooking shows at my mom's house (Ga-ga has extended basic cable, which includes Food Network; we just have basic cable, which doesn't). When she sees a magazine at the store with Paula Deen (we always say her full name!), she wants to buy it. I found a bunch of Paula Deen clips on YouTube and she watched maybe 15 minutes, completely enthralled.

I'm not sure why she feels this way. Maybe because Paula Deen resembles the Fairy Godmother from "Cinderella." Maybe because she likes the idea of real cooking happening (doesn't go on all that much at home!).

Paula, thanks for being Helena's first hero.

I love Paula Deen too! I don't watch her that much, but when I do, I drool. The problem with her is that all her food is soooo fattening. It's comfort food alright. On the Ellen show, I saw her make a casserole using Krispy Kreme's! Wowzers.

That so cute that she loves Paula Dean. She does look like the godmother on Cinderella!
I agree with Leanne on the recipes thing, but she is homey and nice and oozy southern charm.
I remember the first time I ever saw her on a cooking show and she was making "turduckin"... A chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey. That's alot of meat!

I've never seen Paula Deen, but she looks really nice. Maybe Helena will become a chef one day! That would be pretty cool. I think she loves Paula because it's something special she does with Grandma only at Grandmas. BUT..it's a cool obsession. I can't wait for her to start experimenting with Paula's recipes. Well...in a few maybe like eight years :)

Oh my goodness, that's hilarious! Lily's heroes are Boba Fett and Jenga Fett from Star Wars. Oh, and Indiana Jones, even though I have no clue how she even knows who he is.
