Top TV Shows

While I'm on a blog roll (ha ha - somebody call Comedy Central), I'll put this out there, too.

There are only about three TV shows that I really enjoy. I'll watch others, but if I had to pick three, I guess these would be it. They're regular series (not one time deals) and they make me happy. Here goes:

1. "The Office" - I guess I've mentioned this one enough. It seems to have the sophistication of a fantastic movie but it's much more extended, thus more time for deeper plot and character development. Love it.

2. "Keeping Up Appearances" - This is the kind of program you'd run into on PBS really late one night and go, "Do they show ANYTHING not originally aired by the BBC?" But it's hilarious, let me tell you. That Hyacinth Bucket (that's pronounced "bouquet") is the perfect caricature of the social climber. Everyone hides when they see her coming!

3. "Passport to Europe" - Although Samantha Brown can sometimes get a little bit...tiring?...I love this program because, let's face it, it could be decades/never before my foot touches European soil. This is like traveling-by-proxy (we all know how LDS people love proxy work!) and it gives a nice view into how various cultures actually live. It's slightly nauseating, though, how she always manages to stay at the hotels that no regular, middle-class American could afford. Still, at least I get a chance to see the inside of these places. Without this program, I never would.

Honorable Mention goes to "Whose Line is it Anyway" for providing me with belly laughs. Real, tears-coming-out-of-my-eyes, gut-busting laughs. Unfortunately this show occasionally slides into crass or inappropriate jokes but not every episode.

Now I really DO have to go prepare my lesson!
